Bank Holiday Pumping Station Failure
Called out to a new client's site we had no prior engagement with, over a bank holiday weekend, we found a pumping station that had completely failed after internal maintenance attempts could no longer keep it running. With the equipment beyond repair, Pump Paramedics quickly set up a temporary over-pump facility and monitored it continuously to maintain service. We then agreed on a permanent solution with the client and carried out a full refurbishment to their total satisfaction.

Pumping Station Control Panel Repairs
After being quoted a substantial amount by their previous provider for a complete control panel replacement, a client contacted us for a second opinion. They questioned the need for a new unit since the existing one was still running. Our senior electrical engineer inspected the panel and found that while it had suffered from years of substandard repairs and needed urgent attention, it did not need to be replaced. We carried out the necessary remedial work at a significantly lower cost, restoring the system to a fully operational standard.
A Water Booster Set Involved In A Fire
We responded to an urgent, mid-week, out-of-hours call during peak season from a new client who was unable to reach their regular service provider.
A serious fire in an adjacent building had caused extensive heat and smoke damage to the site's booster set and controls. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and emergency services contained the blaze before the pumps were completely destroyed. While the nearby break tanks escaped damage, the booster set suffered severe exposure; remarkably, the timber housing and plastic pipework remained largely intact despite the intense heat. Prior to the incident, the equipment had already shown signs of significant wear.
Our engineers successfully restored a temporary water supply to the park using a combination of on-site serviceable equipment and our own vehicle spares. Pump Paramedics then swiftly sourced and installed a permanent replacement booster set, minimizing further disruption to the client.
Constant Pump Breakdowns
We were requested to provide a second opinion regarding a pumping station experiencing near-daily breakdowns due to persistent blockages. While our engineers found the chamber itself to be in acceptable condition, an inspection of the pumps revealed severe wear on one unit and a badly damaged impeller on the other. Despite these clear mechanical failures being the root cause of the frequent issues, the condition of the pumps had not previously been reported to the client. Pump Paramedics promptly sourced and installed new OEM impellers within a few days. Since the completion of these repairs, the station has operated reliably with no further issues.

A 'Maintained' Pumping Station
We were brought in to assess a pumping station serving a few town-centre apartments following a history of frequent breakdowns, high maintenance costs, and excessive tankering bills under a previous provider. Upon inspection, the station was found to be in critical condition due to severe neglect and substandard workmanship.
Key issues included a missing pump and mounting bracket, failed level controls, and inadequate pipework that utilised swimming pool piping bridged by a flexible hose. Given the extensive history of call-outs and the unviable cost of repairs, the equipment was deemed beyond economical repair. We subsequently executed a rapid, complete refurbishment to restore the station to full efficiency.
